Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan keseimbangan lintasan optimal dengan menggunakan metode Helgesson-Birnie/Ranked Positional Weight (RPW), MetodeLargest Candidate Rule, dan Metode J-Wagon, agar menghasilkan hasil yang optimal sehingga dapat mencapai sasaran secara
tepat waktu, tepat jumlah, tepat mutu dengan biaya yang lebih effisien. Metode ini menggunakan aturan-aturan yang logis dalam memecahkan masalah. Dengan objek penelitian proses pembuatan salah satu model sepatu yaitu model SSOW di PT.PBI. Keseimbangan lini perlu dilakukan karena adanya bottleneck pada proses menjahit komponen quarter stretch ke upper dan proses pendinginan sepatu menggunakan mesin Chiller. Bottleneck disebabkan karena perbedaan waktu proses yang cukup signifikan, sehingga menyebabkan menganggurnya beberapa proses kerja yang beroperasi setelahnya. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa ketiga metode heuristik yang digunakan menghasilkan keluaran potensial yang sama-sama optimal yaitu efisiensi lini sebesar 85.50%, balanced delay sebesar 14.5%, dan total waktu menganggur sebesar 292.413 detik dengan jumlah stasiun kerja sebesar 7 stasiun kerja. Dengan menggunakan metode heuristik keseimbangan lintasan, terjadi peningkatan efisiensi sebesar 69.33%, dan penurunan balance delay sebesar 69.33%, serta pengurangan total waktu menganggur sebesar 8640 detik.

This research aims to determine the optimal line balance using the heuristic method, among others Helgesson-Birnie/Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) method, Largest Candidate Rule method, and J-Wagon method, to produce optimal results so that they can reach the target in a timely, exact number, right quality with more efficient costs. This method uses rules that are logical in solving problems. With the object of research on the process of making one of the shoe models, namely the SSOW model at PT.PBI. Line balance needs to be done because of the bottleneck in the sewing process of quarter stretch components to the upper and the shoe cooling process using a Chiller machine. Bottleneck is caused by a significant difference in processing time, which causes idle work processes to operate afterwards. From the research it can be know that the three heuristic methods used resulting potential output are equally optimal, the line efficiency is 85.50%, balanced delay is 14.5%, and total idle time is 292,413 seconds with the number of work stations of 7 work stations. By using the heuristic methods of line balance, there was an increase in efficiency of 69.33%, and a decrease in balance delay of 69.33%, and a reduction in the total idle time of 8640 seconds.
